It’s no secret that Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and the most fun amusement parks, such as Disney World. In addition to these reasons for visiting, there are also others for the Sunshine State bringing in millions of visitors each year. One of the following ten attractions is perfect if you are looking for a ‘can’t miss’ destination.

Daytona Beach in the late afternoon

Disney World

Disney World, not surprisingly, is one of Florida’s most popular destinations. But let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good fairy tale? And why shouldn’t Disney World be one of the most popular destinations? It’s magical and can even make the grumpiest of people happy. The only drawback is that Disney World can be a pricey vacation as well. Good thing Disney has resort accommodations for all types of budgets!

Orlando

In addition to Disney World, Orlando has its own resort, Universal Orlando, which also has hotels and theme parks. Sea World Orlando is close by and is placed near over 100 hotels and 150 restaurants. Within a few miles of these parks there is also golf or dinner theater experiences just waiting to entertain you!

St. Augustine

No matter what you’re looking for, a romantic vacation or a family oriented, St. Augustine has it all. It has first-class shopping, historical monuments, rare attractions, and beaches that are within walking distance. This is an ideal destination for families or couples.

The Keys

The Keys, which a series of islands connected by the Overseas Highway, has over a million tourists each year and the center of diving and sport fishing. Something that has made this place famous is that the atmosphere is different on each island. Activities to do here include, but not limited to, scuba diving, snorkeling, camping, and deep see fishing.

Amelia Island

Whether you want to stay at an oceanfront cottage, hotel with an ocean view, sea side villa, or a resort, Amelia Island has it. It is 26 square miles and has golf, shopping, tennis, and the finest dining. The resort can be expensive so if you are on a budget there are plenty of state park camping areas and reasonably priced hotels.

Seaworld's Waterpark, Aquatica in Orlando

Miami

Miami has become an international area and a world center of fashion, entertainment, and commerce. Perfect weather, amazingly beautiful beaches, and a nightlife even celebrities come to enjoy are just a few reasons that attract visitors all year.

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is one of the most popular family vacation areas. There are 23 miles of white sandy beaches and the most beautiful turquoise water. There are plenty of attractions and activities to do in Daytona Beach; that is if you can drag you and your family off the beach.

Panama City Beach

Although Panama City Beach, also known as the Redneck Riviera, is a hot spot for spring breakers, it is also a great beach destination for the family. The sandy white beach stretches over 27 miles long and has the brightest green water that runs beside the Gulf of Mexico.

Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island

This destination is well known for its beaches, shopping, shelling, and restaurants. Although Fort Myers and Sanibel Island were hit by Hurricane Charley in 2004, it is well on its way to being fully recovered.

Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater

These three cities, also known as Tampa Bay, has the light sand and mild surf of the Gulf of Mexico. Clearwater Beach still has the best beach in the area even though its old-fashioned motels are being replaced by towering condos. Another great place to stop and see the beach, and to see The Pier, is in St. Petersburg.

From theme parks to golf, first-class shopping to camping, and from white sandy beaches to a celebrity studded nightlife, no matter what you want to do, Florida is sure to satisfy.
